Harms, 1915. 10" x 13.5", 8 pp. Large photo of Sousa sporting a gray Van Dyke in uniform jacket on cover, which is decorated with red, white, and blue ribbon, Liberty Bell illus. A very early (first?) publication of this march written in 1915 "especially for and dedicated to Charles B. Dillingham." Dillingham ran the massive Hippodrome Theatre from 1914 to 1923, staging some of the largest stage spectacles New York has ever seen. The Hippodrome Theatre, the predecessor of the Radio City Music Hall, was torn down in 1939. Sousa and his band often played there, and it was also the location of the Sousa Band offices. This copy: overall very good condition, with chips, tears along right edges. No writing or tape. Some general light foxing, darkening, to covers. Dillingham ran the massive Hippodrome Theatre from 1914 to 1923, staging some of the largest stage spectacles New York has ever seen. The Hippodrome Theatre, the predecessor of the Radio City Music Hall, was torn down in 1939. Sousa and his band often played there, and it was also the location of the Sousa Band offices.
